We need a variety of people in our lives to meet our needs; our spouse can’t do it all. Getting married means you’re just starting to grow together, which requires spending quality time together. It’s not all about feelings of love. Often, you have to choose to love whether you feel it or not. Don’t expect fairness—the focus of marriage is supporting and helping each other. Finally, don’t expect your spouse to change; you only have control over yourself.
